The Makeup Items Every Woman Needs To Add To Her Kit

There is your crush, passing by and you want to get his attention. You put your hand into your handbag to pull out the makeup items every woman needs quickly. Think about the frustration you feel when cannot find that liner in your makeup kit you need right when you need it most. It is important to have all the basic makeup essentials in one place to avoid makeup emergencies.

What Are the Makeup Items Every Woman Needs

Here is a list of seven makeup items that should always be inside your makeup bag, which you can carry to work or to a party.

#1: Primer

Usually, the first step in applying make-up, primer fills in any scars, open pores, and fine lines on the face. Using a primer, however, is optional. You do not need it if you have a “normal” skin. If you have combination or oily skin, use a primer before applying foundation to make your makeup last longer. An eyeshadow primer is different from the regular primer and is suited for the more delicate skin of the eyelids.

#2: BB cream

BB cream, aka beauty balm, is a great multitasking product and one of the makeup items every woman needs. You can use it as a primer, a moisturizer, or even as a liquid foundation. BB cream moisturizes the skin and blurs out skin imperfections for a perfect, dewy, luminous look. Most BB creams come with an SPF that protects the skin against sun damage.

#3: Brow Liner

Whether your eyebrows are too thin, sparse or over-plucked, an eyebrow pencil is probably the best thing to fill in and add volumes to those skimpy brows. Many brow pencils come with a spoolie brush to shape and accentuate the brows to create a perfect smokey eye look.

#4: Eyeshadow

Choose an eyeshadow kit that has a palette of at least three eye colors — a lighter one for highlighting, a medium one for blending, and a darker one for contouring the eyes. Remember to apply a primer on your eyelids to make your eyeshadow last longer and to prevent smudging around your eyes.

#5: Pencil eyeliner

Pencil eyeliners are the easiest to use and are quite versatile makeup items every woman needs. Use a brown eyeliner if you have fair or light skin. Brown looks very natural and neutral but still, gives the same effect as black liner. Applying a beige or nude liner on your waterline can make small eyes look larger and brighter.

#6: Bronzer or blush

A touch of blush can brighten up your cheeks and make your face look young and fresh. If you have a round face and want to chisel up your cheeks, using a bronzer instead of a blush can give your face a more defined and sculpted look.

#7: Lip stain

Use a lip stain to tint or color your lips for perfectly vined and stained lips. Lip stains do not smudge and offer a natural healthy glow to your lips. They last much longer than a lipstick and keep your lips smooth and hydrated all day long.

Remember this important tip when preparing your makeup kit. Check the expiry dates on your makeup at least once a month. Throw out stuff that is close to the expiry date and get a replacement immediately. Always go for the best brands in makeup items every woman needs.

Don’t know how to apply a bronzer? Don’t worry, here is how to do it:

There are lots of other makeup items women use, but that would mean writing another blog for it. In the meantime, perhaps you can’t check Cosmopolitan.
