What happens when or IF Donald Trump is president? Let’s look into the future for a moment.
It’s a beautiful morning on 21 January 2017. You’ve woken up to your usual morning breakfast, realized that you’ve already broken your New Year’s resolutions, and it seems we have lost the holiday cheer in the U.S. All you can think about is that the day before, Donald Trump fulfilled the promise he made. The day before, you witnessed him making the promise to make America a great nation once again and his inauguration as the forty-fifth president of the United States.
Immigrating to Canada is extremely expensive, which is why you the only option now is to live under the rule of Triumphant Trump and cope with his policies. Now, let’s admit it, we all know that it is nearly impossible for most of his grandiloquent proclamations to become a reality. Nonetheless, here’s a projection of the worst-case scenarios that his rule will bring to our dear nation:
China Has a Great Wall (… Not for long)
Great Wall of China
“Eight Syrians were just caught on the southern border trying to get into the U.S. ISIS maybe? I told you so. WE NEED A BIG & BEAUTIFUL WALL!” – Donald Trump Tweeted.
There you go! You have a great America, with a wall. Moreover, America also becomes the greatest tourist attraction because it would have the 10th Wonder of the World. Trump had been jealous of China’s grand wall and its popularity, so he promises to build a better wall to make the nation secure. You also get an amazing photo to add to your collection.
Mosques were for Prayers (… What were those?)
Mosques would be outdated, forgotten and faded away into history.
Islamic Center of America, Dearborn, Michigan
It is a fact that ever since Trump flaunted his unique form of Islamophobia in public, there has been a rise in anti-mosque sentiments. Anti-Islam violence is on the rise in the U.S. 2015 has been one of the worst years for Muslims in the U.S., whereas the religion is harmless to the society. With Trump as the president, mosques will disappear.
Press Freedom Truncated (… President Trump’s First Rights Amendment)
Ceased Freedom of the Press
Trump said this at a rally in Louisiana:
“Look at those cameras, how they’re turned!” he screamed. “They never, ever turn. They will never show how big the crowd is unless there’s a protester because they’re the most dishonest people you’ll ever see.” — Louisiana
Trump openly despises the power of media. Although we have freedom in America, Trump would have found lawful ways of suppressing the press, by excluding the key members of the press from his conferences. Hey, does my mentioning Jorge Ramos ring a bell?
A Never-Before Witnessed Meltdown Will Begin (… No more Environmental Protection)
Death to Environmental Protection
Trump made a very insensitive remark on Fox News Sunday. Let me quote: “Environmental Protection, what they do is a disgrace. Every week they come out with new regulations.”
Let us hope that toxic waters will not cause polar bears to vanish completely. In fact, there are many endangered species and no Environmental Protection Agencies will mean that some of the most beautiful things on our planet will cease to exist. Global warming will go haywire, and America will be facing a huge disaster.
Abortions are Banned (…No Mercy for Women with Complicated Pregnancies)
“The millions of women suffering from breast cancer, cervical cancer, and other life-threatening medical conditions don’t get the right to planned parenthood. Millions of women also use planned parenting. Therefore, whatever you have to say, those millions of women will have to go through whatever they have to. And I will not fund it!”
Marriage Equality (… a Thing of the Past)
This is my favorite part. Let me remind you about something Trump said.
“If I’m elected, I would be very strong in putting certain judges on the bench that maybe could change things, but they have a long way to go. At some point, we have to get back down to business. But there is no question about it. And most people feel this way. They have ruled on it. I wish it was done by the states. Well, I don’t like the way they ruled. I disagree with the Supreme Court in that it should be a states’ rights issue.
This can mean that in the future, there will be no need for the burden of marriage, no name changing dramas, and no expensive weddings. There will be no gay marriages. You will see people making Trump-themed memorabilia as the main work they for Trump.
The list can go on endlessly. Let me cut it short – There will be a lot more to see if Trump becomes President. Colored people in the U.S. should expect more policing. Education will become a disaster, people will not be able to support families with four, and you can start loving measles because getting medical health insurance will become almost impossible.
Jokes apart, poor people, colored people, immigrants, Muslims, women, and LGBTQ people will face hell on earth. America doesn’t need this for its future. It is where people turn to for refuge. However, it will turn into a prosecution ground if Trump becomes President.
