4 Delicious Appetizers for Your Next Family Grill Out

Family grill outs are the perfect opportunity to get together for a casual meal with the ones you love. Though the grilled meats often take the center stage in dinner, don’t forget the delicious appetizers. Talking and laughing with family as you eat appetizers before dinner can result in some of the best memories. These four delicious appetizers are sure to shine at your next family grill out.

Pesto-Stuffed Mushrooms

If you are looking for a decadent appetizer, pesto-stuffed mushrooms are a great option. Simply remove the stem from cleaned baby bella mushrooms. Add your favorite pesto sauce to the mushroom cavity, and top with panko breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese. Bake until the cheese is melted and the mushrooms have softened slightly. Garnish the mushrooms with additional parmesan cheese, if desired.  Serve warm.

Sliders

Tempt your family with what’s to come with sliders. Sliders have hundreds of different possibilities, so be sure to customize them for your own family’s likes and dislikes. To make them, simply slice Kaiser rolls in half. Top with a small grilled hamburger patty, shredded barbecue chicken or a vegetable burger. Add additional toppings in order to customize the sliders. Possibilities include sharp cheddar cheese, American cheese, mayonnaise, mustard, avocado, lettuce, tomato, pickles or sprouts. Use a toothpick to
secure the slider on a platter. This will help with both presentation and eating.

Quesadillas with Pico de Gallo

Quesadillas are a simple appetizer that goes perfectly with a simple, fresh salsa. Take flour or corn tortillas and top half with a mixture of shredded cheddar, Monterey jack and softened cream cheese. Fold the tortilla in half and place on a grill over indirect heat or a griddle. Cook, flipping once, until both sides are brown. Slice and serve with pico de gallo.

Grilled Jalapeno Poppers

Take ordinary jalapeno poppers to the next level by adding a smoky, grilled flavor to the peppers. Mix cream cheese, shredded cheddar and crumbled bacon together. Halve jalapeno peppers and remove the seeds, if desired. Scoop the cheese mixture into each pepper half. Lay the peppers on the grill over indirect heat until the cheese is melted and peppers are slightly blackened. Serve warm. Getting together over delicious food at a family grill out is what summer is all about. The next time you are planning a grill out, consider trying these four delicious appetizers that your family is sure to love.
